For this shoe, I used to pencil medium. I drew the outline of the shoe, then added the details while shading in the dark spots and shadows. After I shaded in the shadows, I used a blending stick to blend out the lines for a more realistic look. I feel as though this is a good start for me in this art class. I'm very proud of this piece and I am very surprised at how well it turned out.

For this piece, I used the pencil medium. We were given the choice of a few photos and I used Kurt Cobain. We were given half of the portrait to draw and used that half as a guideline as to where the rest of the details of the face go. After outlining where the parts of the face go, I used a blending stick to shade in all of the shadows that are cast on his face. I feel like this piece is very well done, especially the eye, which is my favorite part. Although the hair could have used some work, this piece turned out to be one of my favorites that we have done so far.

For this piece we used the scratchboard medium. Scratchboard is a piece of cardboard with black ink rolled onto it that is easily scratched off. Using a sharp tool, making fine lines, you can achieve a beautiful piece. In my opinion, this cat turned out well, but there are definitely some parts I would like to change. All together, I feel as though this is a good picture as it being my first time using this medium.

This medium is called print making. You take a piece of linoleum and you carve out a picture using your choice of sized carving tools. For this assignment we were to do a self portrait carving which was challenging because carving out the many shades of the picture was hard to do. After you carve out your finished product, you coat the linoleum with ink and transfer it to a piece of paper to make a print, kind of like a stamp.

This project was our line drawing project. For this, we had a normal sheet of paper and a pencil and all you do is doodle, pretty much. We were given a packet full of the different patterns that are used to make the final design. We were able to color it in and make what we wanted with it.

The color wheel project was probably one of the most important projects that we've had. This assignment helped show us all the different shades, tints, and colors of the color wheel.Understanding the color wheel is an important part of art.
